RESIDENTS in Nuneaton could see their post delivered later in the day as Royal Mail makes alterations to its service in the town.
From this week residents in CV10, CV11 and CV13 postcode areas will start to notice a change to their postal times.
Bosses at Royal Mail said the changes are needed to “modernise the way it operates” and to keep its prices low.
David Wright, collections and delivery sector manager for Royal Mail, said: “We are proud of the high regard in which our postmen and women are held in Nuneaton.
“However, the way in which we communicate with each other has changed dramatically.
"Unfortunately, fewer letters are now posted every day and Royal Mail needs to organise its delivery routes to be as efficient as possible and we need to modernise the way we operate.
“We are therefore making changes in Nuneaton to maintain our services and to keep our prices among the lowest in Europe.”
Letters are now being sent to every address in Nuneaton, including households, businesses and other organisations, telling them about how the changes will affect them.
In the coming weeks some residents in the town will start to notice their post arriving earlier or later in the day, depending on where they live and the new delivery route that is being proposed as part of the alterations.
The traditional post bag carried by hundreds of post men and women for many years will also be ditched.
They will now be provided with trollies, which Royal Mail bosses say will help their staff carry delivery items much easier and in one trip.

Changes to post delivery times in Nuneaton
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
