ROYAL Mail will meet with the Speaker of the House of Commons and town councillors to discuss the future of the delivery office in Princes Risborough.
The office in Bell Street faces closure to be re-located six and a half miles away in Quilters Way, Aylesbury, which has caused outrage in the town with a packed public meeting and petition against it.
Now a meeting has been scheduled with representatives from Royal Mail, John Bercow and councillors.
Mayor and chairman of Princes Risborough Town Council Eunice Clifford said: “It will have a dire affect on this community.
“What we are saying is there is an alternative. We can all see it is good sense to offload that huge building as it is a total waste- only a third of it is being used.
“But there is alternative accommodation for that service to be run in Princes Risborough.”
