Concerns raised at lost post

AMMANFORD's postal delivery service is definitely a mixed bag - if the observations of town councillors are to be believed.

Members expressed concern after claims that some post appeared to be going astray.

A couple of councillors had not even received a letter from town clerk Miriam Phillips reminding them of their monthly meeting, which she had dispatched a fortnight earlier.

Judith Evans and Terry Howells - both of whom live in Heol Llwchwr - both reported problems while Cllr Lynette Spowart said some Union Street residents had received mail bound for Margaret Street.

"It's a terrible situation if people are getting the wrong post," commented town mayor Irena Hopkins.

Other councillors, however, were happy with Royal Mail's service.

"I must admit I've always found our postmen very prompt and helpful," said Cllr Jane Potter.

Might the problem be with confusion as the addresses are in two languages ?

union street starts where margaret street ends..

mind you, i had the wrong mail not so long back about april... new postie.. i had next doors mail.. next door had the other next doors.. only happened the once. hasn't happened since.

terrible situation? i think they ought to look at themselves first instead of flapping about creating a fuss just to get their names in the paper.
