Yesterday (Thursday) the Daily Mail printed an interview with Moya Greene in which they claimed: "Greene admits size is an issue and acknowledges that eventually a further 40,000 people will have to come out of the Royal Mail workforce of 163,000 if it is to be financially viable."
Since the article was printed, Royal Mail has vigorously denied the comments. Moya Greene did not refer to job loss numbers in her interview with the Daily Mail. No number has been put on job losses other than the recent reported figure that in the last financial year 5,500 jobs were lost from the company..........

Difference is all she has to do is walk round the boardroom and read her bank statements to see if she needs to transfer a few K from the current account to the deposit account. If she bumps into the desk no one will notice, unless the wine glass falls off and messes the plush carpet.
