Royal Mail re-organises delivery routes in town - Keighley

Some Keighley residents are to see changes in their mail delivery times.

Royal Mail has re-organised its delivery routes in the town with changes coming into force this week.

A spokesman said: “We need to modernise the way we operate.

“We are therefore making changes in Keighley to maintain our services and to keep our prices among the lowest in Europe.

“The way in which we communicate with each other has changed dramatically.

“Unfortunately, fewer letters are now posted every day and we need to organise our delivery routes to be as efficient as possible.”

Postal workers at Keighley Delivery Office have started using revised delivery routes, as well as new equipment designed to handle bulkier, heavier items of post.

The spokesman added: “We will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day.

“Many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime but it will depend on where they live on the new delivery route.

“This may be later or possibly earlier than current delivery times.

“When mail volumes vary, we may need to adjust delivery arrangements and times.

“If customers have any queries they can call our Customer Services Team on 0845 601 1399.”

Royal Mail’s collections and delivery sector manager, Martin Bogg, said: “The changes to delivery routes will mean that a member of our local and experienced team will still be delivering to our customers in this area.

“The team and I are committed to providing a high quality service that is as reliable and friendly as customers have come to expect from Royal Mail in Keighley over many years.”
