Couple of recent Labour politicians fit the bill .The percentage of socialised psychopaths working, or should i say hidden, in the public sector is very high.I had the misfortune of working with someone who fitted the bill for Narcissistic Personality disorder. These are people you really don't ever want to meet. These type of people are overly represented in the caring and charity sectors as well.It is no surprise that sociopaths do extremely well within the corporate world, I have read before about the high percentages found in the boardrooms of top companies who have the traits often associated with those found in Broadmoor.
if you have the time ,watch the documentary I, Psycopath which is free on the net I believe.Scary stuff.

Interesting piece that satisfied my desire for stimulation and staved off boredom.

Oppressive regimes that don't want to look oppressive can use psychiatry to bypass justice.

Does hoping that Bob Hare ends his days being locked up in a dangerous and severe personality disorder (DSPD) unit make you a psychopath or does it show a high level of empathy for those who have suffered from miscarriages of justice?

Obviously, any psychopath worth his salt can find a cunning and manipulative way to argue against society classifying some of its citizens as having personality disorders, just like Tony's barrister did.

Agree!
most barristers defending murderers know that they will sometimes help a guilty man go free.
ie equal efforts on behalf of all clients.
Could you do it if you had empathy for victims?
or took full responsibility for your actions.
I think certain jobs require a detachment that allows you to do unnatural things.
a surgeon for example. or a dom.
the surgeon however remains detached only for the duration of an operation,
not for a 40 hour week.
