Morton Fraser is expanding the services it gives to Royal Mail Group.
The law firm currently advises on personal injury work in Scotland.
But from next month it will also give advice on property and employment matters in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The Northern Irish work is being subcontracted out to Belfast firm Carson McDowell.
Brian Hutcheson, partner at Morton Fraser, said: "We are delighted to be appointed by an organisation of such national significance as Royal Mail Group to advise on these additional areas of work.
"This is a crucial period in the long and distinguished history of Royal Mail as they seek to modernise in the face of increased competition from the private sector. We are delighted to be working with them and supporting them at this time."
Orlagh O’Neill, leader of the employment team at Carson McDowell, said: "Royal Mail Group is a prestigious client and we are very pleased to be appointed to advise them on employment and property matters in Northern Ireland. We look forward to starting work with their Northern Ireland team in the coming weeks."
The contract begins on May 1.
