Milford Haven postman Timothy Griffiths to run the London Marathon

A Milford Haven postman is getting his running shoes on to take part in a gruelling challenge in memory of his mother.

Timothy Griffiths will run this year’s London Marathon in April, helping to raise money for charity Children with Leukaemia.

The 31-year-old will be part of the Mr Men and Little Miss team, one of the largest teams participating in the 26.2 mile race.

Timothy said: “I have entered the race to raise money in memory of my mother, who died two years ago.”

“With only eight weeks to go to the day my training is picking up pace.

“ I have reached the stage of running a 19-mile run but achieving some 40 miles a week. “This is the first time I have run over a half marathon distance and as yet I’ve not experienced hitting the wall which is normally between 16-20 miles. I’m sure that I have this to come.”

As well as his busy training schedule Timothy has been fundraising and has already collected £1,350. He is aiming to raise in excess of £2,500.
