POLICE are investigating attacks on two postboxes in villages around Romsey.

One at Stanbridge Lane, in Awbridge and another in Romsey Road, at Wellow, were badly damaged some time late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Police believe a sledgehammer was used in both attacks.

One postbox was so badly damaged that Royal Mail have removed it.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said the company planned to replace the box that was removed and repair the other one as soon as possible.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Postboxes are outdated anyway. Once the 2014 and Beyond Agreement comes into practice, postmen and postwomen will be carrying portable postboxes on their back. This will also save money in terms of collections as you can take the mail back once you've finished your eight-hour park and loop delivery. Then you can sleep in your bunk next to your fitting.
