Postie delivers cash in memory of Robbie

A SPALDING postman has handed over almost £1,500 to a south Lincolnshire hospital in memory of a work colleague.


Adrian Mills, who works for Royal Mail, decided to pedal his way from Spalding to Grantham and back in memory of Robbie Coats, who died in April 2009.

The £1,479.35 he collected in sponsorship has now been presented to Ward 7A at Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital, which is where Robbie was cared for.

The money is being used to buy a chemotherapy pump.

“We are very grateful for Adrian’s generous donation to our ward,” said ward sister Bee Hulley.

“It will enable us to buy a chemotherapy pump which will be used to administer chemotherapy at the correct rate, alarming the staff when there is a problem either with the administration or the patient.”
