Normally, the Royal Mail has a pretty good idea where to deliver a letter simply by looking at the postcode.
If that fails the postman always has the number and street to fall back on.
But posties faced a real challenge when they were asked to find a couple with an address which simply said: 'Somewhere near the golf course in Thetford, Norfolk.'

But amazingly the Christmas card reached 62-year-old Trevor Burlingham and his wife Annette even though their home is nowhere near a golf course and the envelope had no had street name or number.
It was posted by friends in Norwich bearing the words: 'Mr and Mrs T Burlingham ?A road somewhere near the golf course in Thetford, Norfolk.
'Trevor is a photographer (weddings), this might help.'
Mr Burlingham gave his stamp of approval to the posties. 'I think Royal Mail did a fantastic job delivering this - it's amazing really,' he said.

'My business is even under a different name, and the golf course is actually out of town, but they still found me.
'I've lived in Thetford all my life and maybe the postal worker knew me, but it's still remarkable. Everyone's laughing about it.'
A Royal Mail spokesman said: 'We are absolutely delighted that our postmen and women were able to use their detective skills in getting this item of mail delivered safely to the right person.
'Our people always go the extra mile to try and deliver our customers' mail.
'However, we would ask our customers to help us by always addressing their mail accurately and clearly using the full address, including the postcode.'
