Postman's broken leg means no Christmas mail
Postman’s broken leg means no Christmas mail for parts of Llandud

POSTAL deliveries across the county have been severely disrupted across the county as postmen and women struggle in the wintry conditions.
Many areas has not had mail for days.
Deliveries to parts of Llandudno were suspended for health and safety reasons after one postman slipped and broke his leg.
People in Craigside, parts of Craig-y-Don and West Shore were allegedly told that the only way to guarantee receiving letters and parcels in time for Christmas was to collect them from the sorting office themselves.
Town councillor Brian Bertola, who lives in Craigside, said on Tuesday he and his neighbours hadn't received any post since Thursday morning.
“It’s a dreadful reflection on a public service and the health and safety culture that the unfortunate accident involving one postman has been used as an excuse for Royal Mail not to carry out its duty of delivering the post,” he said.
“The milkman has delivered milk to my house every day and my newspaper has also been delivered from Penrhyn Bay, so there is no reason why a postman can’t get here.”
Neighbour Gordon Lorenz normally receives a number of letters each day and at Christmas sends and receives dozens of cards.
“It is unfortunate that a postman broke his leg but I don't see why his round couldn't have been taken over by someone else,” he commented.
A West Shore resident, who asked not to be named, lives on the busy Great Orme’s Road where traffic is flowing freely, but hadn't received any mail since last Thursday.
“I can't see any reason why. The pavements are icy but people are getting around so I imagine it wouldn't be too much of a problem for a postman,” he said.
A Royal Mail spokesman confirmed that after a postman broke his leg on Friday, deliveries in some parts of the town weren't taking place.
“We didn't feel it safe to deliver in some areas. This incident highlighted the dangers brought by the snow and ice and the health and safety of staff has to be considered,” he said.
“However, the situation is being reviewed on a daily basis and might well change.”

But did the loud mouthed, unsympathetic Gordon (the moron) Lorenz offer to do it himself?

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Someone Else ?
F...ck me, Royal Mail must have postmen/women lined up in cupboards waiting to pop out each time there is a shortage somewhere.
No DPG you cannot go into the cupboard with all those female posties. Not till next year anyway.

How dare they suspend deliveries. Xmas cards are far more important than a postmans limbs! Gotta love the public sometimes "me!me!me!" and screw everyone else

The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
The time has come for union.

Re: Postman's broken leg means no Christmas mail
no-one asking how the poor postie I notice
all up in arms till someone else trips and breaks their leg then it will be the councils fault!!!!
I remember a time when it snowed and everyone in the community got off their arses and cleared the paths and roads to make it safer for everyone
it's always someone elses job these days
I hope the postie in question is recovering and hasn't had xmas ruined too much
