Allies & Morrison and Rolfe Judd unveil scheme for Nine Elms

Further projects around the US Embassy in south London have been unveiled.

The centrepiece of the development is the new £1 billion US embassy which is being designed by Philadelphia firm Kieran Timberlake while AHMM, Farrells, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and Arup Associates have all won work on the surrounding development.

Now Allies & Morrison has been hired by the Royal Mail, which has a sorting office on the site, to redevelop the 5ha parcel of land it owns and turn it into a mixed-use scheme featuring 2,000 residential units along with shops, public space and postal services.

Rolfe Judd, meanwhile, has unveiled plans to spruce up an existing Sainsbury’s supermarket at the site and build a new residential scheme, while other proposals include a new hotel and bringing the site’s existing railway arches into public use as new shops.
