AM delivers approval for post office funding bid

An application for funding to improve and expand the Mount Estate post office in Milford Haven has been backed by local AM Paul Davies.

Postmistress Alison Bennett has applied to the Post Office Diversification fund and hopes if her bid is successful she will be able to improve the retail side of the business by expanding the newsagent’s service, reorganising the shelving and installing new safety flooring to the premises, which will improve its disabled access provisions.

Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Mr Davies said he was happy to endorse such a ‘worthy application’.

Mr Davies said: “I have written a letter of support for the Mount post office, urging its proposals to be fully considered.

“These are refurbishment’s that have the interests of the local community at heart and will benefit the local residents hugely.

“Mrs Bennett has done an excellent job of running the post office at the Mount Estate.

“I very much hope that she receives this important funding.”
