The thought of striking managers caused hilarity in the posties' smoking shed this morning. The thought of privatisation didn't

.

Most large companies have a code of conduct which sets what sort of behaviour is acceptable for employees. I'm fairly sure swearing and running down the management in front of other employees would be seen as unacceptable.

Only if you are a bootlicking tosser.

Another good article from the guardian (but did it make the paper?). "Share options" was the bit that stood out.

Share-option schemes are typically used as an incentive for employees.
A share option is the right to buy a certain number of shares at a fixed price, some time in the future, within a company.

I'd rather just be given them! Still, if they increase in value then buy and sell them but if they don't then don't (get a bridging load if you can't afford it).

No it wasn't in the paper. Wish it was, I'd've been paid more for it.

Been a while since I added my two pennies' worth on comment is free, but had to have a go this time. Pretty fair article, though I don't think it has so fair an audience. Many people don't seem to have noticed how different the postman's job has become over the past decade. They're judging on how the postal service used to be and extrapolating that as a means to form their opinion on the present situation. Reality is completely different, which is why it's a massive shame that so many misinformed individuals, who barely have an understanding (of any intimate nature, at least) of the real pressures of life shall be the ones who decide our fate when they vote on the Postal Services Bill or whatever the hell they're calling it. I wonder if they ever see the postman visiting their (second) homes? Bet they don't know his/her name.
