An investigation was launched yesterday into the Post Office for allegedly using dirty tactics to persuade customers to join its fledgling phone business.
Ofcom refused to give details about the alleged mis-selling. But it is likely to include aggressive salesmen phoning people at home, or approaching them in a Post Office, trying to sell the HomePhone service.
