A Westbury postman has delivered the goods for the Army Benevolent Fund by taking part in a trek across Cyprus.
Aaron Collett, who lives in Castle View, Westbury, with his wife Hannah, 26, and their two daughters Katie, nine, and Jessica, five, is a postman in Bradford on Avon.
The postie is also a Territorial Army soldier and has been in Cyprus with the UN peacekeeping force as part of Operation Tosca since March.
The 31-year-old was part of a five-man team to take part 187km run and cycle from one end of Cyprus to the other.
The signalman and his team, who completed the challenge in just under 14 hours, raised £2,561 for the Army Benevolent Fund.
The race started in the west of the island, manned by the Argentinean forces, through the Nicosia area and ending in the east, which is manned by the Slovakian and Hungarian forces.
“It was probably the toughest thing I’ve ever done,” said Mr Collett, who is part of the Signal Regiment in Bath.
“The temperature ranged from 22 degrees to 38 and 39 degrees during the hottest part of the day.
“As the crow flies it’s 187 kilometres but it’s really 228k with the mountains and valleys you have to go through.
“But taking part in physically taxing endurance events is one way to focus and test your fitness as a soldier.”
