A CHURCH deacon who claimed that he was “possessed” when he stole more than a hundred mobile phones
has been jailed.

Vanie Loue, 52, a part-time postal worker, said “mystic forces” had made him take 140 phones, worth £3,500, from Coventry’s Bishop Street mail centre.

Loue, who worked as a part-time evangelical deacon at the Wings of Faith church in Bell Green, Warwickshire, also stole three Nintendo games and jewellery, which he then stored in his Coventry flat. Bizarrely, Loue did not try to sell the phones, despite being £4,500 in debt.

He was caged for nine months.
