A GROUP of daring Royal Mail workers will submerge themselves in a bath of baked beans on market day in St Albans to raise money for a children's charity.
Colleagues Geoff Fellows, Steve Holmes and Eugene will each take a two hour dip in a bath filled with baked beans outside the Post Office in St Peters Street between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday, September 29.
The group's messy stunt, sure to be witnessed by hundreds of market goers, aims to raise money for the Royal Mail's nominated charity, Barnardos.
Responding to the Review's probing over why the group chose to use food products to raise those all-important funds, Geoff said: "Having done it before I know it works. It's unusual and it stops people in their tracks."
Shoppers will be asked for a small donation to add beans to the bath.
