A north Watford Post Office could be closed and relocated, postal bosses have announced.
Post Office Ltd announced this morning plans to close the Kingswood branch, at 103 North Approach, due to the resignation of the current postmaster.
The company now plans to incorporate services into the neighbouring Onestop Convenience store at 89 to 91 North Approach.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “ Relocation of Kingswood Post Office will allow us to maintain access to Post Office services and in the area and to significantly improve existing facilities.”
The company also stressed that the same range of services will be offered in the future.
No final decision, however, has yet been made. A public consultation will now run until Tuesday, October 5. Submissions can be made during the consultation by post to Post Office Ltd, c/o National Consultation Team, PO Box 2060, WATFORD WD18 8ZW, by emailing consultation@postoffice.co.uk, or by calling 08457 22 33 55.
