Job Description

Are you a competent driver? Qualified to drive vans and lorries? Do you enjoy the freedom of being on the road?

Royal Mail are now recruiting Collections and Network Drivers. If you hold a full driving licence which enables you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes (category C1) and have no more than six penalty points, then this could be the job for you.

Contract length: Fixed Term 6 Months

Hours of work: 16 hours per week, weekends only. The early shift will start 5:00am Saturday for an 8 hour shift and start 5.00am Monday for another 8 hour shift. The night shift will be 11:59pm Friday for an 8 hour shift and Sunday 11.59pm for another 8 hour shift.

We need you to have a professional attitude as you will be driving for up to 8 hours a day during unsociable hours and peak traffic. You will be responsible for the mail you collect from Post Office branches, businesses and post boxes. You will transport it to mail processing centres, delivery offices and airports. As part of the job you will load and unload mailbags weighing up to 11kg and push trolleys of mail weighing up to 250kg.
