The UNI europa Post & Logistics lobby week to fight postal liberalisation and ask for a moratorium will take place from 12 to 15 April 2010 in Brussels

To ensure this week is successful and we achieve our aims, we need all of our European affiliates to meet as many politicians on European level as possible and make our position clear to them. Regardless of whether your country already has postal market liberalisation or not, it is important that all MEP’s understand the UNI issues and demands.
We demand a moratorium on the liberalisation of postal services until:
· the social consequences are researched,
· the social conditions in the whole postal market are secure,
· the financing of universal services is guaranteed
· a way is found to compete on quality and innovation in the market

To support your efforts, UNI Europa Post & Logistics have organised with several partners a series of activities and documents available on this webpage (related files) http://www.uniglobalunion.org/Apps/UNIN ... FF004591DB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We hope a big number of your members can participate at these events.

We really hope there is a strong mobilisation of your Trade Unions to get meetings with your MEP’s and a high number of participants for our events and especially at the demonstration, the 14 April at 2 pm, Place Luxembourg, Brussels!

This is the last chance to get attention for our demands and to influence the liberalisation process. We should stand in solidarity, regardless of the state of liberalisation in each of our countries, and use this opportunity to send a strong signal to the European Institutions.

To be successful we need to work strongly together to get across our message to “Regulate Deregulation” and to ensure good protection for the workers in the post and logistics sector.
