ARBROATH postwoman, Rhona Harrison has been declared first-class for her charity fund-raising in Royal
Mail's prestigious annual awards.

Rhona, who works in the Arbroath delivery office, is one of three short-listed posties in the fund-raising category for the Royal Mail's 1st Class People Awards 2010.

The awards aim to celebrate postmen and women who are unsung heroes in their communities.

Rhona has raised £6,000 for Breast Cancer Care Scotland over the last five years. She, and her friends, have completed the Moonwalk in Edinburgh over the same period and are gearing up once again for this year's walk in June.

Rhona has also raised money for various other charities over the last 15 years and held a number of fund-raising events.

She has also taken part in many other local causes including raising funds for Aberdeen Hospital's premature baby unit, taking part in fun runs and organising a dinner dance and auction for 250 people, with all monies raised going to charity.
