Major Protest by Steve Fitzpatrick CWU Gen Sec

CWU General Secretary Steve Fitzpatrick is to chain himself to the Cuchulain statue in the GPO from midday today until An Post pay the ESOP to all staff that are due this agreed payment. THe photo Shows Mr Fitzpatrick bravely preparing for the protest.

In an interview with the Irish Times Mr Fitzpatrick said he has waited long enough, he has pleaded- Cajoled- even threatened going legal and An Post just do not seem to have taken any of this seriously in the ten years of the ESOP episode.

So the only route open is for him to become a victim for his members and chain himself to the iconic Cuchulain Statue until the staff receives their rightful dues. Mr Fitzpatrick said "this is a symbolic heroic move, in the great tradition of Cuchulain and the Irish never say die fighting spirit against oppression". He invites all CWU members and the public to come along and support him.

An Post used to be GPO, just like Royal Mail.....any chance we can vote Stevie Fitzpatrick as DGS ( Postal ) - I doubt he'd take any of RM's crap at the negotiating table
