Father kills dog!

Well as much as I love dogs I would have done the same. At least this guy has stopped the dog doing this to someone else or their child. But it won't surprise me if the arsehole justice system puts this poor guy in jail. He done the right thing.

He did the right thing? I don't think so!

He took his daughter next door then left her & went back and hit & kicked the poor dog before stabbing it. They had already asked for the dog to be rehomed before because it had bit someone else. It was an unneutered male in a house with a bitch on heat & in the room with a 2 year old girl. I'm not excusing what it did & do think the dog should have been put down, but humanely.

I certainly wouldn't have had it anywhere near any of my kids! Poor kid & poor dog.

Where did you read all that as it didn't say any of that in the piece I read. I thought it was someone elses dog not the guy that killed it.

So in a family with two young children they were concerned enough about how aggressive a huge dog was getting to ask vets to destroy it -but when the vets didn't they still kept it in the house around the kids? Why on earth would they not rehome the dog to a rescue centre or a family without young children? And as for wrestling the dog away, taking it outside then stabbing it to death -the father sounds like he was more intent on revenge after getting the dog away than he was in getting immediate emergency help for his toddler. To me they don't sound like very responsible parents or dog owners

He probably was intent on revenge but also in shock,traumatised and probably racked with guilt as well.
I do not think we should judge his actions at that particular moment in time however i do agree his judgment in keeping such dogs around young children and not acting when the dog first attacked was seriously flawed.
