A LETTER was delivered straight to its intended recipient – despite the fact only his first name and home town were written on the envelope.
The letter arrived on the doormat of well-known Ulverston estate agent Ralph Spours after it had been posted two days earlier in Preston, Lancashire.
No house number, street name or postcode were included. Simply the words “Ralph” and “Ulverston” were enough to guide it all the way to Mr Spours’ address.
Mr Spours said: “Aren’t our postmen wonderful.
“What did the letter contain? I would have to kill you if I told you that.”
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “This is yet another example of how our postmen and women will go that extra mile to make sure all items of mail are delivered.
“However, we would ask customers to help us by fully addressing all items of mail, including the postcode, to ensure the safe and effective delivery of mail.”

Re: SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR RALPH
Good job it didn't come to my office, it would have been immediatley killed off and sent away, we don't have enough time to do our normal work let alone being investigators.
