To people who comment to me about Britain's lamentable position of being the only country in the G20 that is still in the grip of recession, I say, well, every nation needs a certain amount of heavy industry to enable a recovery, Britain has no heavy industry to speak of anymore, and what little she has is in the hands of foreigners who close plants, lay off workers, to offset any difficulties felt in their home nations caused by worldwide recession.
All the other G20 nations have heavy industry which is home owned, home based, therefore, recovery isn't nearly as difficult to achieve as it is so obviously is here.
That, and an economy that is geared towards a level of personal debt that would have shamed the Victorians, is why Britain will be lucky if she manages to ever emerge from this recession, before the next one, and there will be a next one, arrives on top of it.
The future for Britain and her people has never been so bleak, and if it has, I bet you'd have to go a bloody long ways back to find when it was.

I doubt we will ever recovery Harry, as Liebour have lined up the rest of the assets to sell off, Dartford Tunnel, Channel Rail Link etc. Soon the only income the government will have is taxes. I to win the lottery (when I can afford a ticket), so me and my family can escape the hell hole this country has become.

Yes, the Tories did immense damage to industrial Britain, and now New Liebour are adding the finishing touches to this treacherous programme. My advice to anybody with a young family, and if it was possible for them to do so, would be to get the hell away from this decadent, corrupt, morally bankrupt, fiscally bankrupt, shambles of a country, and go somewhere that will not only offer you an immediate future, but will also offer your children a future other than one of endless training schemes that lead nowhere but to the next training scheme just so the unemployment figures can be fiddled.

Yes, that rabid old bitch started the ball rolling alright, we own hardly nothing today, and that's due to New Liebour's continuation of Thatcherite policies, and even creating policies with undertones of Thatcherism within them.
New Liebour's complete lack of empathy with working people, and by working people I mean the many tens of thousands of manual workers on the lower end of the payscale, and not the type of bastard that wears a suit and tie, does the equivalant of diddly squat, and gets paid hundreds of thousands of pounds, if not millions, has been so blatant, that to my understanding anyway, their taking of union money amounts to a kick in the guts of every union member in Britain.

I can't take this 'protection' of Royal Mail too seriously as Mandelson was trying to sell us off to TNT las summer.
It's only because of the campaign against it or because he couldn't get a good enough offer (depending on what you believe)
that we weren't sold to a foreign predator.
