The London-based media has a reputation for regarding Watford as the edge of civilisation.
Anything which might lie beyond that is a place to be feared and preferably never visited.
This image has not been dispelled by a letter which has somehow found its way to the News & Star from a Soho public relations company.
Congratulations are due to Royal Mail, who delivered it here despite the best efforts of the sender.
It was addressed to: ‘News & Star (Lancashire), Cumbian Newspapers, dalston carlyle cumbria’.
So, Lancashire is thought to be the same place as ‘Cumbia’; Dalston Road becomes Dalston and Carlisle is Carlyle.
Apart from that, a job well done.

Of course inner city schools aren't of such a high standard as those in the North of England - I mean places like Watfud can't compete with Gods country.

Oi! Leave Watford alone - isn't it bad enough they have to live with being the birthplace of Geri Haliwell, Vinnie Jones & Nick Leeson!dvbuk55 wrote:Of course inner city schools aren't of such a high standard as those in the North of England - I mean places like Watfud can't compete with Gods country.
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Let's face it, we've all had worse addresses - I once had one for DGP1 - somewhere over the Irish Sea

I was thinking of the Carlyle group, worlds biggest private equity firm ( revenue undisclosed, not for public consumption)Members ,Bush ;Baker ;Soros ;Major;Ramos
Fancy being in private meetings with a Bin Laden the moment the planes met the towers
What price Airline futures ? Just a shame the system that regulated profiteering and dodgy stock dealing was housed in the world trade tower. Someone had a very profitable day
