Reinstate the strikes – don’t give Crozier an early Christma

Post by goinpostal »

Reinstate the strikes – don’t give Crozier an early Christmas present!
Friday 6 November

After weeks of closed talks, the Postal Executive met yesterday afternoon and voted to call off the strikes scheduled for today and Monday. Post workers must demand to immediately see all the details of the latest offer and have a chance, this Sunday, to meet, discuss the deal and decide for themselves what is the way forward. Otherwise they run the risk of being fobbed off by Royal Mail bosses, who could get the backlog and Christmas out of the way before returning to the attack. As we all know, the Tories are talking to private companies about privatising the service – and breaking the Communication Workers Union is a precondition for that more…

Duffel coat brigade, shout a lot but run away when its all over. No one takes them seriously. Bit like the mormons - last thing you need on your doorstep. Admire their pluck though.

The demand to see the details is quite amusing, why? Because it will be released at 12pm Friday. Hardly a massive delay is it?

Yes it would have ben nice to see it now and I sugest that is something for conference to look at as a new rule for the CWU.

I imagine Dave and co are doing a write up to go with it, to explain it all, so we can see the reasons at the same time as reading the agreement.

And if your in a D.O were Phase 3 did not go tits up, then all you are seeing is phase 4 back on track and you await the outcome of phase 4 which is when you pass judgement on modernisation agreement arising out of phase 4.

There is nothing in the 2007 deal that said strikes must happen untill phase 4 is done and dusted, I thought the strikes were a last resort to get phase 3 sorted out and get RML back to disscussing phase 4? Dave and the PEC belive they have achived that and at 12pm we will be able to see if we agree.

i am telling you this right now, if we the membership have been shafted yet again ala 2007, then their will be consequences and you can bet Hayes, Ward and the guys on Pec won't like it because their cushy jobs will end

Stand united?? Oh dear, we are scraping the barrel for reasons to go without pay for nothing. As for reinstating strikes, you and which army? There isn't anyone left to make a strike and the temps would run rings around that. As for being 'Tman' - thats even funnier :funneh

Oh my God I agree with Night Tonic.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
