ROYAL Mail workers in Weston are staging a second walk-out today (Sat) as part of a national strike.

The town's sorting office is among hundreds nationwide to be affected by the industrial action, announced last week.

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) is leading the workers in a row with Royal Mail over job security, pay and working conditions.

There seems no sign to the end of the dispute as union bosses threaten more strike action before Christmas if a resolution is not found.

Business leaders have warned the postal disruption may cause them to abandon the mail service.

Bristol CWU branch secretary Dave Wilshire said: "We don't want to strike but we have been left with no alternative.

"Postal workers are working longer and harder than ever under current conditions and something has to be done.
