yes and news on ITV was talking about 5 'secret sorting centres' - that are emergency depots for the backlog of mail.... that gives the impression that RM have been prepared for a long period of strike action. Is that normal?

yes, so does that mean RM are preparing for a long drawn out dispute? As in no intention of really negocaiting?

so so sad. so sad that we here in the UK preach to every other country about working conditions yet when it comes to it, our own government dont care about working conditions here. Not just that but about the normal working person in general. The humble working person is now just seen as an obstacle getting the way of making even more profit.
Companies used to see if they were doing well by customer satisfaction.....not anymore!
God if i ever bumped into these people

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It has certainly been used recently to assist in the clearance of packets and flats as I understand. Not sure if that would be London mail or whether it is overflow from Swindon. The more mail they throw at DOs the less is likely to be sorted and delivered. Throwing up all manner of H&S issues, tempers getting frayed, morale falls further ... happy days!

It'll certainly be doing business tomorrow - management were offering the OX staff the chance to work there for the day rather than come to Swindon.

Will check tomorrow. Got a mate who lives just up the road from there. Used to be a postie. Will email him and get some info on whether they are working there.
