Two men have been detained in connection with a mail van theft and an attempted bank robbery in Aberdeen earlier this month.
A spokesman for Grampian Police said the men, aged 29 and 35, were from the Liverpool area.
It follows the theft of a Royal Mail van from the city's Wellington Road and an attempted raid on HBOS on Greenwell Road on Friday 11 September.
The pair are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Grampian Police said inquiries were ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspects who may have been involved in the incidents.

That's worrying as when they stole the van to do the bank job they were probablly armed.
