Woman in hospital after Jeep collides with van and bus

A woman has been taken to hospital after an horrific smash on a Preston road which left her car on its side.
The woman's black five-door Jeep collided with a Royal Mail Ford van and a Stagecoach 126 bus in Pittman Way, Fulwood, close to the JTS premises.

The incident happened at 6.02pm on Monday.

The woman driver has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital though her condition is not known, but a police spokesman described the crash as a "serious" incident.

Police and ambulance crews were still at the scene at 6.30pm and the road was expected to be closed for a lengthy period of time while accident investigations were carried out.

The front end of the Jeep and Royal Mail vehicles were both badly damaged and debris from the Jeep was scattered across the road.

One of the windows in the Stagecoach vehicle was also smashed.
