Royal Mail apology over Flintshire postbox thefts

ROYAL Mail has apologised for any letters that may have gone missing, after several postboxes were stolen from Flintshire.

As the Leader reported recently, police are investigating the disappearance of a number of old-fashioned post boxes from the Mold, Nercwys and Treuddyn areas.

Jackie Lee, from Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch Association, said: “It is believed it is because they are the old type with ER on and people may be wanting them to sell them on.”

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “Thankfully the theft of post boxes is relatively rare.

“We would urge anyone with information regarding the thefts to contact North Wales Police on 0845 607 1002.”
