Royal Mail’s First and Second Class mail exceeded their customer quality of service targets in the first three months of the 2009-10 with First Class delivered at its highest springtime performance since records began.

The latest quarterly quality of service report shows 94.5% of First Class stamped and franked mail arrived the day after posting - beating the 93.0% target - while 98.9% of stamped and franked Second Class mail arrived on time within three working days after posting, again beating the 98.5% target.

Standard parcels, business bulk mail services and European international mail all beat their targets as well during the first quarter of 2009-10 from the third week in March to June 7.

Based on sample 'letters , packets'.............. and we know for sure these are pulled out from the source so as to limit any failures so that of course means as usual royal fail distort these 'figgures' with recuring regularity and inept managers who follow there 'leader' (old st) and no doubt on his command are these 'samples' removed from mainstream mail and given preferential treatment  :cfo
