Postal workers I speak to can't afford to strike. It's the unions who want the strike, because the new plans could deplete their authority. David, Ipswich

I used to get my mail at 8am. Since the Government's modernisation plans were implemented, I now get it early afternoon. The postal workers get my 100% support. Col, Newcastle

Unions of an important service holding the country to ransom? No change there then. They should be grateful they have jobs in the current climate. Matthew, Ulster

Privatisations have been nothing more than a con a massive public rip-off I'm on anybody's side against it but you will all vote for it next election. Jim, Ayr

I back the posties. All the executives are getting away with murder and the workers as usual are treated like muck. John, Llandudno

The Government never listens to the postal staff, who do a great job. Robert, Blackpool

Re: the postal workers. This Government seems hell-bent on making British workers jobless and bringing in cheap foreign labour. Shirley, London

Typical of the idiots in this country. Condemn the post workers. It's all me, me, me, unless it effects them. When it does and the price rockets then the idiots complain. Bob, London

Col, Newcastle, you're lucky - my post very often arrives at 5.30pm. Chris, Solihull

I work in a Post Office. They have got rid of all the night staff and when a full-timer leaves they make the job part-time. They make us take big packets which used to go by van and the walks are three and a half to four hours long. PB, Cleethorpes

With their excessive demands in the past, unions have become expert at exporting jobs. They will not be satisfied until they have destroyed Royal Mail. Keith, Bury

As a former sorting office worker, I fully support the posties. I was also pleasantly surprised to see so many texters in favour of the postmen, when I had been expecting most to have a go, and side with the bosses. Thanks to you all. David, Telford

No more privatisation. Tory privatisation of the utilities has led to increased utility bills. The Tories will fully privatise Royal Mail and the NHS if they get into power. God help us! Russ, W Sussex
