Resident reports postbox 'exploding' in Blanchworth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a post box in Blanchworth was damaged yesterday, Monday August 17.

Gloucestershire Constabulary received a call from a member of the public at approximately 2.40pm reporting that a post box on the road from Frog Lane in North Nibley towards Berkeley had ‘exploded’.

Officers attended the scene and are currently investigating the incident. It is believed that the damage may have been caused by a firework or similar item. The post box was not on fire but had been badly damaged.

The Royal Mail has also been informed of the incident.
