DONCASTER widow Karen West has raised £4,500 for Doncaster Royal Infirmary in memory of her husband who died last year.
Diagnosed with cancer in early July 2008, Stuart died within the same month, prompting her the take action to help the wards where he was treated.
On April 14, the day that would have been Stuart's 50th birthday, Karen held a fundraiser at Peglers Sports and Social Club, which included a football tournament, and magic and dancing shows, and a fire eating performance.
The money raised is to be split between the Chatsfield Suite and Chest Clinic at the hospital.
Karen works at the Royal Mail sorting office in Doncaster, where Stuart also worked for 20 years. There, the Communication Workers Union donated a laptop and digital camera to Karen for her to raffle.
