POSTIES have been bitten by dogs or attacked by the public more than 22,000 times in four years, figures revealed last night.

Keith Davies, 54, had his arm "almost torn off" by two rottweilers as he delivered Christmas cards in Cambridge last year.

Another postie in Leeds suffered "multiple injuries" to his hands, chest and right leg after a CAT attack in 2006.

And another said he had been bitten by a RABBIT on his round in Chelmsford, Essex.
