Postal workers at two depots in Bristol will take part in a nationwide strike over jobs, pay and services on Friday..
About 170 Royal Mail workers at the Montpelier and Whitehall depots will take part, meaning no mail will be delivered to properties in the BS5, BS6 and BS7 areas.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) said staff at the Yate, Keynsham and Portishead depots had also voted to take strike action and are likely to walk out some time early next month.
A further 11 delivery depots are currently in the process of balloting for strike action, with results to be revealed by the end of the month, and within the next two days Royal Mail will also be given notices of strike ballots for the giant mail processing centre at Filton as well as the large distribution centre at Pilning.
