EXPECT postal delays during TT Week, Isle of Man Post Office has warned customers.
It explained delivery and collection times were likely to be affected by a 'substantial increase' in the volume and speed of traffic on the Island's roads during Race Week.
But it promised to do 'everything possible' to minimise any disruption.
On days when there are road closures, this will seriously affect deliveries to addresses on the course or where access is only available via the course.
Postal workers will deliver where they are able to but those addresses not receiving a delivery will have their mail delivered to them the next available day.
Collections may be affected, especially in rural areas, while final collection times in towns may also vary.
On non-race days, there will be a complete mail delivery service but there may be some delays as deliveries will include the back-log of mail for homes on closed roads.
During the TT period, customers can choose to collect mail from their local sorting office instead, but only by prior arrangement.
Customers located on the course or affected by road closures can have their mail delivered to another address.
Anyone wishing to make alternative arrangements for delivery should contact their local sorting office in Ramsey (816735), Douglas (698508), Peel (844590) or Southern postal delivery office on 823332.
All postal staff are wearing high visibility jackets during their deliveries in TT fortnight so motorists can clearly see them on the road.
Isle of Man Post Office urged all motorists to keep an eye out for them making deliveries.
All post offices will be open as usual during TT fortnight and Senior Race Day (Friday, June 12) with the exception of those offices located on the TT course, which will be open before and after race sessions where applicable.
The Department of Health and Social Security has agreed this year to the early payment, from today (Friday) of pensions and allowances due on June 12, for the convenience of customers on Senior Race Day.
