A ROYAL Mail collections driver was slashed with a pair of scissors by a young man.
The offender approached the driver as he got out of his van, at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, on Rothesay Avenue, New Lenton, near to the junction with Ilkeston Road.
He threatened the 38-year-old and slashed him before running off along Ilkeston Road.
The victim suffered a two-inch cut to his right arm and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre.
The offender is white, around 18 years old, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in, of skinny build, and had mousy brown hair and wispy stubble.
He was wearing a white baseball cap, a white zip up tracksuit top, which had a grey 'T' on the right breast and blue tracksuit bottoms.
Anyone with information should call police on 0115 967 0999 and ask to speak with Central CID or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
