MAIL workers from a Warrington depot want to be first past the post when it comes to a fundraising run.

The seven-strong team from Royal Mail’s rail terminal will be taking part in the Liverpool Half Marathon tomorrow Sunday to help raise money for Barnado’s, the companies charity partner.

Rail terminal manager Ricky Murray said: “Staff have been fundraising for Barnado’s for a while now. We’ve been training on and off since January and we’ve had great support from our workmates. We’ve not set a specific sponsorship target - we’re just looking to raise as much money as possible for a very worthy cause.”

Ricky will be joined on the run by colleagues Tony Annibale, Paul Booth, Chris Greenhalgh, Tony Kinsella, Berni Lally and James Thomas. Anyone wishing to sponsor the Royal Mail runners can call at the rail terminal reception on Hawleys Lane.
