Fairfield The family of a sub-postmaster’s son shot dead during an armed raid attended a special church service yesterday.

Craig Hodson-Walker’s mother, brother and fiancée attended the service at St Mark’s Church in Fairfield, Worcestershire.

Mr Hodson-Walker, 29, was shot in the chest at his family’s post office in the village on Friday morning. His father Ken, 56, who was shot in the leg, is recovering in hospital.

The Archdeacon of Dudley, the Venerable Fred Trethewey, said: “No one who has known Craig and his family can be untouched by what has happened, and gatherings like this are one of the ways in which the community draws strength and offers mutual support.” After the service, Mr Hodson-Walker’s brother, James, 27, fiancée Lisa Bundy, and mother, Judy, crossed the road to the scene of the attack and read messages attached to flowers.

rs Hodson-Walker said: “Someone, somewhere, knows something about who did this and they should come forward.”

Police believe four men were involved — three, armed with a handgun and a sledgehammer, who went into the store, and a driver who waited outside in a silver Golf.

Alan Cook, the managing director of Post Office Ltd, has offered a £50,000 reward for information.
