A public meeting has been arranged to discuss the Royal Mail's proposal to close the Wotton-under-Edge sorting office which serves Wotton and the surrounding districts of : Kingswood, Wickwar, Bagstone, Tytherington, Milbury Heath, Buckover, Whitfield, Falfield, Tortworth, Cromhall, Charfield, Bowcott, Ozleworth, Tresham, Kilcot and Hillesley.

The Cotswold MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown will be in attendance and invitations will be sent to the bordering constituency MPs, Steve Webb and David Drew.
It is intended to invite the Royal Mail to send a spokesperson.
Local County and District Councillors will be invited plus representation from all the Parish Councils affected by this proposal.
In addition local groups such as the Chamber of Trade and Federation of Small Businesses will be asked to supply representatives.
Business owners, shop keepers, Royal Mail staff, and members of the public are invited.
