A KEMSING postman will deliver his last letter on November 14 after nearly half a century of work.
Roy "Digger" Jones, 65, of Cleves Road, has delivered regularly to Underrivver, Weald, since 1960 but is about to hang up his post bag to concentrate on his golf swing and walks with his wife Margaret.
"I'm looking forward to playing more golf, which I really enioy, but I know my wife has got a list of things prepared for me to get on with."
Mr Jones started out as a telegram boy at the age of 14 before moving onto a more permanent delivery round to the villages.
The last few years before retirement were spent delivering to businesses in the town centre.
"I have great feelings for the Weald and the other villages I've delivered to," he added.
"I still see some of the children, many of them now in their 30s but they still wave to me, which is nice."

It can't have been too bad if you've managed 23 years.fatherchristmas wrote:23 years in and still 22 to go before i hit 60.
