According to Royal Mail dog attacks against postmen/postwomen are on the rise:

Rather regrettably, the CWU's call for a complete ban on the use of private vehicles whilst on delivery seems to have fallen on deaf ears as it is still prevalent throughout many RM Delivery Offices.
"Today’s workplace has become heartless and soulless. Employees are seen as units of labour, automatons, functionaries, objects for achieving designated tasks, and as costs to be minimised."
