Pervert postman banned from every park and school in Scotland

A ROYAL Mail worker has been banned from every park and school in Scotland for making sick comments to two girls.

Adrian Mannion has also been ordered to stay off the internet and is forbidden from having contact with anyone under the age of 18.

The rare restrictions were imposed after Mannion, 27, admitted the "lewd and inappropriate" outburst in front of the youngsters, aged 10 and 11.

Sheriff David Bicket was told there was a high risk of Mannion reoffending.

Mannion works for the Royal Mail at Wishaw sorting office but has been off sick since June.

He had to move out of his Motherwell flat after he was confronted by angry neighbours.

The charity Children 1st yesterday welcomed the sentence.

They said: "A man who is known to have made indecent comments to young girls is clearly someone who should not be coming into contact with them - either in the real or the virtual world."

Mannion was put him on the sex offenders register for three years and given three years probation at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Mannion's lawyer Mark Lunny said: "He has been assessed fully and has been honest about his behaviour.

Probation will allow monitoring of him and provide protection for the public."

shouldn't he be "persuaded " to resign - that's what the media will do - the drip , drip effect

I'd a Chief Inspector that was up in front of the beak for hanging round public toilets - but it was just like RM - double standards - looking after their own - seen cases when RM have got rid of people BEFORE it got to court

Are his bosses going to alter his walk so that he won't come into contact with children then? It will be difficult because there are quite a few children about nowadays. If the guy is such a danger then he should be kept in prison and treated until he isn't.

If he's genuinely ill. He should have been sent to a Secure Hospital, until he is no longer a threat to Children.

We don't know the full story ie. what he said or did so I really don't think we should be making judgements until we have all the details.

I still don't know what he has done? It sounds quite sensational given the punishment for talking to two young girls, perhaps he tried to convince them that prostituion at their age was a bad idea.

Anyway, I'm sure the courts know what they are doing and have given an appropriate sentence, however without knowing any details except mass hysteria it isn't for us to comment on what we haven't got a clue about.

They don't put people on the Sex Offenders Register, without good reason. Remember:

And as for mass hysteria: Try coping with finding out that someone close to you suffered at the hands of a paedophile. And the psychological harm that she has to deal with, decades later. And then tell me that it's just mass hysteria, reacting harshly to a case like this!!!!!

paedophiles don't just wake up one day, and decide to attack a Child. They start off small, and gradually progress, to an actual attack! We need to do something about them, BEFORE THEY ATTACK!!!!!

Perhaps he was telling them what he heard Brand and Ross saying on Radio 2 the previous evening.

If we weren't in court we just don't know.
