A recent German court ruling that some German mail companies had set up a "bogus union" to try and get round the German minimum wage for postal workers is good news for postal workers says Andrea Kocsis, Vice President of UNI's German affiliate, Ver.di. "With the decision of the Labour court now providing clarity that the GNBZ was clearly set up by the employers themselves to avoid the statutory minimum wage this means that all employees in the postal industry have since 1 January 2008 been entitled to the minimum wage. That's why today is a good day for the employees and businesses of mail services," she said.
