Royal Mail confirmed the new service on Thursday
Royal Mail has issued a major update to anyone sending letters or parcels, or returning items.
The company has unveiled a new location finder designed to "make it easier than ever for customers" to track down their nearest drop-off, collection or returns point for parcels. The Find Royal Mail Locations tool, available on the postal service's website, comes following a significant expansion of the company's network, which now includes lockers, Royal Mail Shops and parcel postboxes. Customers can search by postcode or via an interactive map, using advanced filters to pinpoint their most convenient option based on service type, including collection, parcel drop-off or purchasing postage; parcel size; and opening hours.
Royal Mail boasts the UK's largest out-of-home network, with around 30,000 parcel points, including lockers, shops and parcel postboxes. The company remains on track to reach 45,000 out-of-home locations by 2030, it confirmed in an update on Thursday.
The Find Royal Mail Locations tool has been rolled out as part of Royal Mail's commitment to making sending and returning parcels as straightforward as possible for customers.
Mike Richmond, chief customer officer at Royal Mail, said: "People are shopping online and using second-hand marketplaces more and more, meaning they need convenient options to send and collect their parcels. We've massively expanded our network to give customers more choice.
"Find Royal Mail Locations makes it easier than ever to find the best option, whatever the size of parcel or time of day."
